BMW has launched the updated version of BMW S 1000 XR in India on May 21, 2024 to replace its 2020 model. The all new BMW S 1000 XR is mix of practicality and sporty design inspired by super sports bike S 1000 RR, featuring split headlights integrated into a sharp facia. The S 1000 XR design, performance and features all have been updated and the sports bike will be imported as completely build unit in India.
BMW S 1000 XR Specification & Features
BMW claim that they have re-worked the in-line cylinder unit linked with 6 speed gear box, which now produces 170 hp of power at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm which is more than the outgoing model. BMW also claimed that the all new S 1000 XR can reach 0 – 100 kph in just 3.25 seconds with a top speed of 253 kph. BMW has completely re-design the S 100 XR, the black beak fender is replaced with the body coloured fender. The seat is 850 mm high and also can be lowered BMW claim that the seat is one of the best seat for bike riders that perfectly suits for touring and track riding.
The bike gets a chiselled bodywork owing to its touring purpose, the all new BMW S 1000 XR focused on bikers who love touring as the BMW S 1000 XR gets a tall stance and upright yet commanding riding posture for touring. BMW S 1000 XR is equipped with USD front forks, a monoshock and a stabilizer and brakes with dual front and single rear disc with dual channel ABS system. The all new S 1000 XR comes with 17 inch wheel with 120/70 front and 190/55 rear tyres.
The all new S 1000 XR comes with lots of additional equipment depending on the package that you choose from, the bike comes in 3 different package options: Touring, Dynamics and M. Touring and dynamics package are standard but the M package comes with more premium features and equipment.
The touring package include a luggage carrier, a centre stand as standard, and a separate slot for navigation device, hand protection, tyre pressure monitoring system and heated grips.
The Dynamic package include dynamic ESA pro, shift assistant pro and cruise control.
The M package include the M sport seat for optimum comfort and support, M Endurance chain, M GPS Laptrigger, sports silencer, tinted windscreen, a black fuel filler cap, M lightweight battery, M forged wheels, or optionally M carbon wheels. The M package is the only package that comes with the M sport themed white colour. It also important to note that the BMW S 1000 XR M package will cost Rs 2.50 lakh more in comparison to other package.
The all BMW S 1000 XR is priced at 22.50 Lakh (ex-showroom price in India) and will compete against Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS which is going to be launched very soon in India.
